Built on Faith. Inspired by the Wild. This Is Trail Scout.

Some trails begin at a mountain’s edge. Mine began with a cancer diagnosis.

I’m Ryan, founder of Trail Scout Outfitters. After facing stage IV cancer twice, I carry a different appreciation for the things that once seemed ordinary: another sunrise, time with my children, and the chance to lace up my boots and head outside.

Cancer is part of my story. So are faith, hard work, fatherhood, and a love for wild places. Those are the roots of Trail Scout Outfitters.

Where I Found Room to Breathe

There is something about standing beneath an ancient redwood that puts the day into perspective. Or rounding a bend and seeing an alpine lake tucked beneath a mountain ridge. For me, those moments offer room to breathe, pray, and feel grateful.

During the hardest chapters of my life, my faith and time outdoors helped me hold on to hope. Some days, being outside meant a long hike. Other days, it meant simply taking a moment to look up.

That connection to nature became something I wanted to share.

Outdoor Clothing With a Personal Story

Trail Scout Outfitters is for people who feel that pull toward the outdoors—whether they are planning their first hike, returning to a favorite campsite, or finding a little peace on a local trail.

Our designs bring together the things that matter to us: mountains, forests, faith, heritage, and cancer awareness. From a small ribbon on the front of a hoodie to a wilderness scene across the back, these details carry meaning.https://trailscoutoutfitters.com/products/hike-for-a-cure-logo-hoodie

My hope is that you find something here that feels like part of your own story. Something you reach for on a cool morning, pack for a weekend away, or wear because its message matters to you.

A Mission Beyond the Merchandise

Alongside Trail Scout, I am building Hike4aCure around a purpose close to my heart: helping children and families affected by cancer find moments of joy, connection, and hope.

My long-term vision includes support for childhood cancer research, opportunities for families to experience the outdoors, and the preservation of old-growth forests.

These are goals I am working toward as the business and organization grow. They come from lived experience and a belief that the opportunity to build something should also be an opportunity to help someone.

Why the Forests Matter

Ancient forests are part of what makes the outdoors extraordinary. Standing among trees that have lived for generations reminds me that we belong to a story much bigger than our own.

I want my children—and yours—to have the chance to experience that feeling. To hear the wind through the branches, discover a quiet trail, and understand why these places deserve our care.

That love for the wild runs through Trail Scout’s identity, especially our redwood-inspired designs.

You Have a Place Here

You do not need years of hiking experience to connect with this brand. Maybe your next adventure is a mountain summit. Maybe it is a short walk with your kids.

I hope Trail Scout encourages you to make time for it.

Thank you for being here at the beginning, for learning our story, and for giving a small business the chance to earn your support.
